PROPERTIES

4-Ethylmorpholine (NEM) is a colorless liquid with a strong ammonia-like odor. It is soluble in water, alcohol, ether, acetone and benzene. Less danse than water. Stable. Highly flammable. Incompatible with strong acids, strong oxidizers. Slightly air sensitive.

APPLICATIONS

CATALYST

N-ethylmorpholine can be used as a catalyst for flexible, semi-flexible, and rigid polyurethane foam production.

PROMOTER

It is applied in polymer technology as a promoter for resin surface curing.

STABILIZER

It is used in polymer technology as a stabilizer for fiber spinning solutions.

SOLVENT

It can be applied in organic synthesis as a special solvent for fats and fatty oils.

Other uses:

Intermediate in surfactant and rubber chemical manufacture.

Manufacturing of vat dyes, emulsifying agents, pharmaceuticals.

Purification of Penicillin G.

Substitute for enzyme reactions.
